Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) maintained high passenger numbers in 2025

With a total of 1,253,780 passengers, FMO can look back on a successful 2025. Passenger numbers remained almost at the same level as in 2024 (-2%) which is particularly remarkable given the discontinuation of Lufthansa's Frankfurt route at the end of 2024. Compared to 2019, FMO even recorded growth of 26%. This means that traffic at Münster/Osnabrück Airport developed significantly better than German air traffic as a whole, which remains around 13% below pre-COVID-19 levels.

FMO's strategy of focusing on well-established, high-demand routes with high-frequency schedules has proven successful. The three most popular destinations in 2025 were Antalya (398,000 passengers), Palma de Mallorca (339,000 passengers) and Munich (233,000 passengers).

Lufthansa, SunExpress and Ryanair were the three largest carriers, each with an equal passenger share of 20%.

Another positive development is the increase in seat load factor, with an average of 83% in 2025 setting a new record.
