About The Airport
Floripa Airport, a whole subsidiary of the Swiss group Zurich Airport, which took over 100% of operations at Florianópolis International Airport - Hercílio Luz on Wednesday (03/01/18).
In early 2018, the concessionaire will start the construction of a new and modern terminal, four times larger than the current one, and will be ready by October 2019. The terminal will have two floors, separate boarding and deplaning flows, 10 loading bridges, ample open spaces, state-of-the-art airport technology and equipment. The parking lot will have spots for 2,530 cars and there will be new living areas, with food court and other services. The investments exceed R$500 million. The company reached 125 employees by the end of 2017 and is expected to reach 168 employees by 2018.
Parallel to the construction of the new structure, Floripa Airport will promote improvements in the current terminal to allow a more pleasant experience to the public. Some of the changes have already begun to be made, such as the 30% increase in the service capacity in the inspection area, which is ready by the end of December 2017.
