Lufthansa Celebrates 65 Years of Connecting Dammam and Frankfurt

A Proud Milestone in the Sky

Lufthansa proudly marks 65 years of continuous air connectivity between Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Frankfurt, Germany. This is a remarkable milestone underscoring our enduring commitment to the Eastern Province. Since, our inaugural flight in 1960, Lufthansa has played a vital role in linking Saudi Arabia with Germany and beyond. Dammam was one of the first destinations of Lufthansa in the Middle East and the first in Saudi-Arabia. Lufthansa Airlines has been servicing Dammam for many decades. In 2025, we’re excited to announce a 30% increase in seat capacity on this route. With daily flights now available, travelers can enjoy even greater convenience and flexibility, whether for business or leisure.

More Destinations, More Possibilities

This expansion opens the door to the world. Passengers from Dammam benefit from smooth onward connections to over 310 destinations globally through the Lufthansa Group airlines:

  • Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, DiscoverAirlines, and Edelweiss.
  • Our transatlantic partners: Air Canada and United Airlines via the Atlantic Joint Venture.

With the airlines of the Lufthansa Group, passengers can make the most of a wide selection and lots of combination opportunities. Coordinated timetables and combinable fares ensure the greatest degree of flexibility when planning flights.

Lufthansa Group is also growing in Saudia Arabia: Lufthansa Airlines is currently offering daily flights from Dammam and Riyadh to Frankfurt and Eurowings is offering 7 frequencies from Jeddah to Berlin, Cologne and Stuttgart this winter.
