Monarch Airlines UK announces new routes to Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance, Germany

A German first on scheduled flights from Monarch Airlines. Starting from December 2012, Monarch Airlines will fly 6 times per week to Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance, the gateway to the Austrian, Swiss and German ski areas. For the first time it will run scheduled flights to Friedrichshafen from London Gatwick and Manchester

We are pleased to announce a German first on scheduled flights from Monarch Airlines.
Starting from December 2012, Monarch Airlines will fly 6 times per week to Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance, the gateway to the Austrian, Swiss and German ski areas.
For the first time it will run scheduled flights to Friedrichshafen from London Gatwick and Manchester.

The well-known British airline, Monarch Airlines will start flights from December 14, 2012.

The scheduled flights from London Gatwick and Manchester will use the modern Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft and will have seating for up to 214 passengers.

Several firsts for the Lake Constance Airport

There will be six weekly flights from the UK.  For the first time Friedrichshafen will be served non-stop from Manchester and London Gatwick with a scheduled flight from Lake Constance.

In addition, Friedrichshafen is not only a new route for Monarch, it is also their first destination in Germany.

Shopping at the famous German Christmas Markets now a possibility

Flights will depart as of the 14th of December 2012 for Christmas shopping at the famous Christmas markets of Lindau and Friedrichshafen. Furthermore, flight times, make it ideal for a weekend getaway or a short trip to the beautiful area of lake Constance.


Friedrichshafen, Gateway to the major ski areas. - Continued growth in Ski arrivals


After a very successful ski season in winter 2011/12 the number of ski arrivals is set to grow considerably with the introduction of these new Monarch flights. Short distances and high operational reliability whatever the weather means that skiers can reach their destination without delay even under the most adverse of weather conditions. The airport is equipped with a state of the art CAT3B ILS instrument landing guiding system ensuring no weather related delays or diversions.
