Costa Blanca is the name that identifies the province of Alicante. In 2019 the Alicante-Elche airport received 15 millon passengers and its considered Best European Airport by ACI within its category (5 to 15M passengers). It's the fifth most important airport in Spain, with an increasement of 10%. The Alicante-Elche airport is connected with 110 destinations worlwide in 22 countries. Some of the most popular tourist destinations are Benidorm, Alicante, Torrevieja, Calpe, Denia or Jávea. Our region is chosen not only by tourists but also by european citizens which decide to have a second residence by the sea. Thus, Costa Blanca is the region with the highest number of european residents in Spain. Alicante hosts the EUIPO, European Union Intellectual Property Office and international sports events, such as the Ocean Race or La Vuelta.
