With traffic of over 8.6m passengers in 2007 and a network of more than 70 scheduled destinations, the Venice Airport System is the third Italian Airport System after the main hubs of Rome and Milan.
It serves an area of 5.7m inhabitants and over 560,000 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies that generate one of the highest GDP in Europe and an out-going traffic of business travellers equal to 36% of the total airport system traffic.
