EVIA AERO Orders 25 Eviation Alice Aircraft

LONDON – EVIA AERO, a sustainable German regional airline, has signed a deal with Eviation for 25 Alice aircraft.
The Letter of Intent for the all-electric commuter Alice aircraft will enable EVIA AERO to use this aircraft as the primary type for point-to-point sustainable regional travel.
This would include such travel to take place within Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands.
Such an order has also come off the back of the Eviation Alice completing its first flight on September 27.

The Eviation Alice…
The Eviation Alice is a nine-passenger electric aircraft – the only flight-proven all-electric commuter aircraft of this size.
Built from a clean-sheet design around magniX’s industry-leading electric propulsion system, Alice produces zero carbon emissions and costs a fraction to operate per flight hour compared to light jets or high-end turboprops – thereby providing the opportunity to activate more routes, improving the convenience of air travel.
Alice is targeted at both commuter and cargo markets and will typically operate flights ranging up to 250 nautical miles.
Travel by electric aircraft will help to revitalize regional communities, create new job opportunities within the aviation industry, and enable secondary airports to prosper with additional commuter traffic and lower operating costs.

It remains clear that this represents another strong investment into the all-electric commuter aircraft market, with EVIA AERO wanting to take advantage of this.
With a lower cost base, the Eviation Alice will no doubt prove to be a substantial competitor in the smaller regional market, for which there is quite a lot of demand on the passenger front.
All eyes will now be on Eviation to see how the next stages of testing for the Alice go and whether they will continue to follow their timetable for entry-into-service as well as getting LoIs firmed up for actual deliveries.
