Historic record: Floripa Airport surpasses 5 million passengers in 2025.

Florianópolis International Airport reached its highest passenger traffic ever in 2025, surpassing the 5 million passenger mark in a single year for the first time. A total of 5.1 million people passed through the airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brasil.

This growth was driven especially by the expansion of international flights. In 2025, Floripa Airport registered 1.2 million international passengers, a 32% increase compared to the previous year, in addition to a 27% increase in the number of international flights. This performance reinforces a position the airport assumed at the beginning of 2024: that of the third busiest terminal for international passengers in Brazil, behind only Guarulhos and Galeão.

The acceleration of internationalization began in 2024, when the volume of passengers on flights outside the country almost tripled compared to the previous year, exceeding 900,000 travelers. This result was driven by the arrival of new strategic routes, such as:

  • Florianópolis–Panama, connecting Santa Catarina to North America and the Caribbean, operated by Copa Airlines;
  • Florianópolis–Lisbon, operated by TAP, connecting the state to Europe;

Furthermore, there was a significant expansion in flight offerings to traditional destinations such as Argentina and Chile, which grew by 114% in 2024 compared to 2023.

“The milestone of 5 million passengers reinforces Florianópolis as a relevant destination on the global stage and reflects the constant work of planning, investment, and high operational performance, focused on the development of Santa Catarina,” says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brazil.

Currently, Floripa Airport has five regular international routes – Buenos Aires (Ezeiza and Aeroparque), Santiago, Panama, and Lisbon – in addition to eight domestic routes. With this new milestone, the airport consolidates itself as one of the main tourist hubs in the country and strengthens its role in connecting Santa Catarina with the world.
