The Rhine unites in Berlin: Düsseldorf Airport unveils the new DUS Rhein Lounge at ITB Berlin. More than 160 destinations in around 50 countries on the summer flight schedule.
Düsseldorf Airport is bringing the experience that travelers have recently been able to enjoy at Gate B in DUS to ITB Berlin. With original furniture, seating areas, and selected design elements, the airport offers visitors to its booth an authentic glimpse of the recently partially opened DUS Rhein Lounge.
The lounge’s theme is “The Rhine Connects.” This theme shapes its concept and visual identity, blending regional identity with a cosmopolitan, modern premium experience.
Before ITB, the summer flight schedule was ready to impress. This summer, guests will benefit from a wide range of direct connections as well as noticeably greater comfort and a more pleasant experience in the terminal.
A diverse range of flights to over 160 destinations during the summer season
In the summer flight schedule, more than 60 airlines serve over 160 destinations from Düsseldorf. An average of around 3,300 takeoffs and landings are scheduled each week through the end of October. This gives North Rhine-Westphalia’s largest airport one of the most diverse route networks in Germany—offering numerous options to vacation destinations, European cities, and international hubs.
Palma de Mallorca and Antalya continue to account for the most weekly departures. The Balearic island is served approximately 120 times a week, primarily by Eurowings, Condor, and TUIfly. Antalya follows with up to 90 weekly departures, served by SunExpress, Pegasus Airlines, and Corendon Airlines, among others.
Spain is one of the most important destination markets from Düsseldorf overall. A total of 17 destinations are served, including cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Alicante, Valencia, and Seville, in addition to the Canary Islands.
Türkiye is even more widely represented with more than 20 destinations— in addition to Antalya also Izmir, Bodrum, Dalaman, Kayseri, and Gaziantep. Flights to Greece include Heraklion, Rhodes, Kos, Corfu, Thessaloniki, and Karpathos, among others. Italy is well-connected with cities such as Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Bari, and Olbia.
In addition to traditional vacation destinations, frequent connections to major cities ensure links across Europe. London Heathrow is served approximately 55 times a week by Eurowings and British Airways. Vienna offers up to 50 weekly departures with Austrian Airlines and Eurowings. Istanbul is served 35 times a week by Turkish Airlines, and the second airport on the Bosphorus, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen, is served 45 times a week by Pegasus Airlines and AJet. Zurich, Amsterdam, and Paris round out the dense network of European hubs.
The 2026 summer season brings several new destinations. Among others, Eurowings is adding Karpathos, Kayseri, Tallinn, Milan-Linate, and Madrid to its flight schedule. Condor is launching new service to Sulaymaniyah. Sky Express is increasing its Athens service to daily flights and will continue the service to Thessaloniki, which began last winter, with three weekly flights in the summer. Enter Air is launching new service to Pristina. At the same time, high-demand routes are being further expanded, such as to Palma de Mallorca, Hurghada, and Crete.
