Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) records its busiest month in 18 years in October 2026

In October 2026, Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) recorded a total of 181,120 passengers, which is a 14.6% increase compared to 2025. This is the highest monthly passenger figure recorded in 18 years; the last comparable figure was recorded in July 2008.

This exceptional monthly result was driven by an extensive seasonal programme with additional flights and strong demand during the autumn holidays. A total of 137,400 passengers passed through the airport during the holiday period.

Antalya was the top destination. With over 73,000 passengers, FMO set a new monthly record on this route. Never before have so many passengers travelled between the two airports in a single month.

The busiest day of the year so far also occurred in the past month. On 19 October, a total of 6,901 passengers travelled through FMO. That day saw 41 flight movements on scheduled and leisure flights to seven different destinations.
