Blue Air introduces service to Bucharest-Baneasa

21.09.2009: The Romanian airline Blue Air launches a new connection to Bucharest-Baneasa

14 September 2009 marked the introduction of a new direct connection from Vienna to Bucharest-Baneasa by Blue Air. This Romanian carrier will depart daily from Vienna at 8.30 am and is scheduled to land in Bucharest at 11.00 am local time. On Friday the flight will depart at 3.15 pm. The flying time is roughly one hour and 30 minutes.    The Romanian airline Blue Air operates a fleet of nine Boeing 737s (thereof three Boeing 737-800s), one Saab 2000 and one BAe 146-200, with flights to more than 43 destinations throughout Europe. In 2008 Blue Air handled one million passengers.   This new connection to Bucharest underscores the key role of Vienna International Airport as an East European hub. With a total of 49 cities, Vienna offers the largest range of destinations in Eastern Europe.   Romania offers a wide range of attractions such as the medieval cities of Transylvania, the world famous monasteries in Bucovina and the romantic Danube delta. Bucharest is one of the most interesting and modern cities in Eastern Europe with its numerous museums, galleries and monasteries as well as a pulsating nightlife.
