Lodz Airport - spring and de-freezing of economy

Coronavirus spread had shaken the normal life and economy in many countries. The current situation related to COVID-19 and the collapse of the passenger flight market is a shock to the entire aviation industry. It will pass but it means a new reality after the commencement of passenger traffic.

Here we have spring which means the season of thawing and blooming. To cheer you up a photo from recently reopened Botanic Garden in Lodz.

In Poland, we are slowly de-freezing some public institutions and private enterprises. We are still supposed to keep social distance and do not leave home unnecessary but life is slowly getting back to normal. Everyone has to wear a mask in public spaces. The hotels in our city started to operate and they slowly begin to accept guests although there are some restrictions concerning hotel restaurants. Eating services in the city are still restricted to only delivery or take-out services. Many restaurants and eateries in Lodz started to provide this kind of service even if it was not available before. So now you can order food from most of them. There are predictions that during warm summertime restaurants will be allowed to open outside service in front of restaurants.

In Lodz city museums and theatres are still closed. There is a plan to open EC1 at the beginning of June – it is a big education and science centre which provides also other education and exhibition services. Swimming pools and sports centres are not open yet. Outdoor sports and activities are allowed individually but you have to remember about keeping social distance. Botanic Garden and Palm House started functioning normally lately. Even Tourist Information in Lodz is now open and serve customers  7 days a week. We are still waiting for opening borders and allowing passenger air transport but movements are being made in the right direction. Let’s hope we will serve regular passenger flights soon.
