Lodz Airport Soars to New Heights: ACI Europe Recognition for Remarkable Passenger Growth in 2023

In a testament to its remarkable achievements and growth, Łódź Airport has recently been distinguished in the ACI Europe ranking for its outstanding increase in passenger numbers during the year 2023. This recognition not only reflects the airport's commitment to excellence but also positions it as a rising star in the European aviation landscape.

Łódź Airport, nestled in the heart of Poland, has been making significant strides in the aviation sector. The recently released ACI Europe ranking for 2023 showcases the airport's impressive growth in passenger numbers, setting a new record and outperforming expectations. The surge in passengers highlights the airport's strategic initiatives, effective management, and the region's increasing appeal as a travel destination.

✈️ Łódź Airport, as the only one in Poland, has been distinguished by the Airports Council International (ACI Europe) among airports that have best coped with rebuilding traffic after the pandemic period.

📈 ACI Europe has summarized the year 2023 at European airports. Analysts compare the past year with 2019 - the last "normal" year before the pandemic, during which flight bans and restrictions distorted statistics. The conclusion is that passenger traffic in Europe increased by 19 percent but has not yet reached pre-Covid-19 levels.

📈 ACI Europe takes into account the percentage increase and trend, not the absolute numbers of passengers handled, and evaluates airports in five groups depending on the number of passengers served.

📈 Łódź Airport is listed among the airports that are doing well after the pandemic, rebuilding traffic, and even recording significant growth in passenger numbers. In 2023, the number of passengers using Łódź Airport reached 356,878, which is a 97 percent increase compared to 2019.

📈 Łódź has found itself in the fifth group of airports serving up to one million passengers annually along with Trapani in Sicily (increase of 223 percent), Perugia (+143 percent), Tirana (+117 percent), Samarkand (+110 percent), Łódź (+97 percent), Kutaisi (+91 percent), Zadar (+88 percent).

📈 This is the third distinction for Łódź in the ACI Europe ranking in 2023. Previously, the airport was recognized for a 38 percent growth in the first half of the year and for the largest increase in August, amounting to 48 percent.
