Leipzig/Halle Airport launches 2010/2011 winter season with extended flight offering

Central Connect Airlines launches service to its Prague hub and to Brussels Airport
Starting 15 November, Central Connect Airlines (CCA) will be launching non-stop service to Prague. This service will be available Monday through Friday. Aircraft of type Saab 340 will be operated on this route.
The flights will use flight numbers of Czech Airlines (CSA). Passengers on these flights will take advantage of numerous transfer connections, to which CSA, a member of the Sky Team Alliance, provides access via the Prague hub. Favourable connecting flights are available to the following 18 destinations in Eastern Europe: Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Moscow, Minsk, Odessa, Kiev, Skopje, Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Budapest, Sofia, Bucharest, Ostrava, Kosice, Krakow and Warsaw.

Starting 15 November, Central Connect Airlines will also offer service between Leipzig/Halle and Brussels. The carrier will operate these flights twice a day, morning and evening, Monday through Friday, to particularly attract business travellers.

Sunshine destinations served from Leipzig/Halle
Air Berlin will be serving 38 destinations from Leipzig/Halle this winter season, running up to 18 flights a week. Condor takes off on 8 weekly flights, while Sky Airlines offers five flights a week. Sun Express will run three weekly flights this winter season.
Top of the list of destinations is Antalya, which is being served 11 times a week, followed by Palma de Mallorca with eight flights a week. There are also weekly flights to Hurghada, 8 non-stop flights and two connections via the Nuremberg hub.

City connections from Leipzig/Halle
The 2010/2011 winter timetable features 159 weekly non-stop connections to nine destinations in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic, being served by five airlines.
Thus, 13 weekly flights and two European destinations have been added to the timetable, compared with the same period last year.

Lufthansa: the number one with 89 weekly flights from Leipzig/Halle
Germany’s two major hubs, Frankfurt and Munich, are being served 33 times a week.
Lufthansa operates flights to Dusseldorf 23 times a week. The airline provides access to more than 250 international destinations via these hubs.

Austrian Airlines to launch non-stop service to Vienna in January 2011
Austrian Airlines will launch new non-stop service on the existing Leipzig/Halle - Vienna route on 10 January 2011. In future, there will be no stopovers in Dresden, reducing travel time to Vienna by some 60 minutes.
Starting 10, January, the airline will be offering up to two daily flights to Austria’s capital, Monday through Sunday. Passengers on these flights will take advantage of favourable and convenient transfer connections to Eastern Europe and Asia.
Until 9 January 2011, Austrian will operate up to 18 weekly flights on the Leipzig/Halle - Vienna route, either non-stop or with a stopover in Dresden.

Air France: daily flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport
Air France provides daily non-stop service between Leipzig/Halle and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Offering up to 14 flights a week, Air France enables passengers to use the worldwide route network (some 180 destinations) that Air France–KLM serves via the Paris Charles de Gaulle hub.

Fly Germanwings to Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart and numerous other European destinations
Germanwings operates Airbus A319 aircraft on its 12 weekly flights to Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart. As part of its Smart Connect service, Germanwings offers favourable connecting flights to destinations such as Belgrade, Bologna, Budapest, Bucharest, Klagenfurt, Lisbon, Madrid, Manchester, Moscow (VKO), Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Rome (FCO), Salzburg, Split, Stockholm,Thessaloniki, Vienna and Zagreb.

Fly Air Berlin to Palma de Mallorca and 18 other destinations in Spain and Portugal
Air Berlin will run up to eight weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca during the winter season. Eighteen destinations in Spain and Portugal including Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Valencia, Malaga, Jerez de la Frontera, Ibiza, Lisbon, Porto and Faro are being served via this hub.

Reintroduced: Air Berlin flights to Rome
During the winter season, Air Berlin will be operating a weekly flight to Rome via Nuremberg. The service will be available on Mondays.
