Airlines invest in Linköping City Airport (LPI)

The Swedish airport map is undergoing substantial changes. There is a general consolidation and smaller airports struggle to survive. Many of them end up with charter and cargo. Some even have to create special funds to buy airline services as the final outpost to offer scheduled traffic.

The trend in Linkoping is totally different. The last few years we have experienced an increasing interest in route establishment at Linkoping City Airport. The reason is our perfect location right in the middle of the East Sweden Region covering some 5 counties and more than 1,5 million people. KLM and NextJet decided for Linkoping last year and this year airBaltic decides to start two new routes, LPI-RIX and LPI-SVG.
