Oman Airports active first quarter of 2019

Muscat International Airport witnessed an active quarter one (January to March 2019); during these three months,  overall passengers reached 3,998,098, up by 8.7% compared to quarter one of the last year 2018. Salalah International Airport has similarly seen an amount of passenger growth during the same period of January to March reaching 337,863, a 2.1% growth rate compared to last years' 2018 quarter one statistics.

Cargo numbers in Muscat reached 21,868 tons through January to March 2019 - an apparent increase compared to the last year 2018, where cargo numbers obtained 18,679 tones a (7.1% variance.)

Similarly, Salalah's cargo numbers from January to March of 2019 reached 101.1 tons compared to last year's Jan to March 2018's period; figures achieved 82.0 tonnes, a 23.2%  growth rate.

Oman Airports proudly welcomed Qeshm Airlines to Muscat on the 1st of February, on a two weekly flight operation. In addition to Salam Air's three weekly flight from Muscat to Alexandria on the 3rd of March 2019. Last but not least, Go Air's three weekly operations from Kannur to Muscat International Airport on the 1st of March 2019.

During the first quarter, the airline marketing team has engaged in many events to which include Routes Asia, Routes Europe, ITB, and the Cargo Symposium conference.  There are further events Oman Airports will be attending such as; Routes Silk Road, World Routes, World Travel Market, IATA Slot conference and one to one visits to specific airlines from the Indian, Middle Eastern and North African market.
