" DEVELOPMENT STUDIES OF PULA AIRPORT Ltd. FOR THE PERIOD 2014 to 2030 "
On February 5th 2015, Pula Airport Ltd. at a press conference at the Park Plaza Belvedere in Medulin, presented the project "Development Studies of Pula Airport Ltd. for the period 2014-2030 . This project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund through the Operational Programme Transport 2007-2013.
The total project cost is 4,989,092.00 kn (aprox, 656 460 €), of which 3,443,640.70 kn to be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The development studies of Pula Airport Ltd. for the period 2014-2030 include guidelines for further development of infrastructure and overall operations, with defined objectives and development strategy, as the basis of survival in the air traffic market.
The project duration is from November 2014 to October 2016.
Pula Airport Ltd. requires new development studies because the existing ones for the period 2007- 2030 from 2006 are not in accordance with the current state of the market and the development of air transport in Europe, do not follow the development plans of Istria County and Municipality of Ližnjan, do not follow the development plans of transport (road and rail),have an unclear goal of development and the need for large investments in infrastructure which are an obstacle to Pula Airport's growth. Finally the environmental impact study and the noise map which will be developed within this project, have never been completed before.
The target groups of the project are:
- Employees of Pula Airport
- airlines that operate at the airport
- airlines carrying out training flights at the airport
- travel agencies that lease seats from airlines
- local community - private accommodation owners, owners of restaurants and local businesses
- Liznjan Municipality and Istria County.
