About The Airport

Fort McMurray Airport Authority is a community-based not-for-profit organization that owns and operates Fort McMurray Airport (YMM). Canada’s sixteenth busiest airport, YMM is the fastest growing airport in Canada with a passenger growth rate of 18% year to date. YMM served nearly 1.2 million passengers in 2013 and opened a new international terminal building on June 9, 2014.

More passengers means more flights, including additional daily nonstop flights to major domestic destinations including Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Kelowna, and Vancouver. From a transborder and international perspective, YMM provides nonstop service to Las Vegas and season service to Cancun, Mexico.

The new $258 million, 15,000 square meter building is five times larger than the current. The new terminal will accommodate up to 1.5 million passengers annually with four passenger bridges and six gates. A robust concession program includes 16 retail and food & beverage outlets.
