SKY UP AIRLINES CONNECTS CHISINAU AND RIMINI

RMI-RMO direct flights for the first time ever

For the first time ever Rimini & San Marino International Airport “Federico Fellini” will enjoy a direct connection with the capital of Moldova. The flight will be operated in collaboration with leading international tour operators.

Regional Councilor Frisoni commented: "an encouraging sign towards our internationalization."

Mayor Sadegholvaad stated: "an additional positive prospect for Rimini area."

AIRiminum’ CEO Corbucci added: "an important signal that also helps strengthen our leisure incoming product."

September 19th Rimini San Marino International Airport will be connected for the first time with Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, with a regular direct flight operated by Sky Up Airlines. Tickets for the two weekly flights (Monday and Saturday) are already available on the airline’s website starting from yesterday, September 18th. The route will be inaugurated on May 30th, 2026 and will be operated by Boeing B737-800 until October 17th .

"Another milestone achieved for the mosaic that Federico Fellini Airport is building step by step,” stated Regional Tourism Councilor Roberta Frisoni. “This leadership aims to create a solid network of connections throughout Europe for the upcoming summer season. An encouraging sign of our internationalization, with a potential volume of around 12.000 new passengers, also facilitated through the Tour Operator Join UP, the official partner of Sky Up Airlines, which has been collaborating for years with Apt Emilia-Romagna to develop new tourist programs in Romagna.”

Rimini Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad highlights the effectiveness of collaboration between AIRiminum, Apt, the Region, and Rimini Municipality: “It’s a work,” he states, “that has primarily been aimed at exploring new markets, progressively replacing those in difficulty for various reasons (most notably Russia), ultimately resulting in a more diversified market.”

“We are particularly pleased with the opening of this new connection,” declared Leonardo Corbucci, CEO of AIRiminum 2014, “because, alongside the pride of inaugurating Rimini–Chișinău route for the first time, it is also a pleasure to reconnect with an airline that, after five years, has chosen our airport as its primary destination for relaunching the Italian market. This is an important sign that also helps strengthen our leisure incoming product, as the flight will be operated in collaboration with leading international tour operators."
