From Rimini to Warsaw and Chisinau with Wizz Air

Wizz Air expands its route network from Rimini International Airport, strengthening its presence in the European market with two new destinations: Chisinau and Warsaw.

Wizz Air expands its route network from Rimini International Airport, strengthening its presence in the European market with two new destinations: Chisinau and Warsaw. These new flights respond to the increasing demand for mobility between Romagna, Eastern Europe, and rapidly growing markets, further consolidating the Federico Fellini Airport’s role as an international hub.

Starting June 9, Wizz Air will launch the Rimini–Chisinau route, operating twice weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) with modern Airbus A321neo aircraft, ensuring efficiency, comfort, and environmental sustainability. This new route enhances the partnership with AIRiminum, the airport management company, and fits into a strategic development plan aimed at increasing Rimini’s connectivity with major European destinations.

Additionally, from May 22, Wizz Air will inaugurate the Rimini–Warsaw route, offering four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). Operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft, this route links the Romagna Riviera to the Polish capital—an emblem of history and modernity—providing a fresh boost to tourism and business for the region.

The partnership with AIRiminum is further strengthened by other recent route developments, including the Sofia route starting March 31, and upcoming routes to Katowice and Budapest expected in June. These connections enhance Wizz Air’s presence and contribute to the sustainable growth of Rimini Airport, establishing it as an international hub for Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and beyond.

Leonardo Corbucci, CEO of AIRiminum, along with local authorities—including Rimini Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad and Emilia-Romagna Regional Tourism Councillor Roberta Frisoni—highlight the strategic importance of these developments for the region, reaffirming their commitment to growth and seasonality reduction. The collaboration between Wizz Air and AIRiminum is a key element in the development plan culminating in 2026 with the international Routes Europe event, reinforcing Rimini’s position as a major European air destination.
