200-Acre Selangor Aero Park Development Launched at KLIA Aeropolis

Malaysia Airports and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI) today marked a significant milestone in Malaysia’s aerospace journey with the launch of the Selangor Aero Park @ KLIA Aeropolis. This landmark development cements Malaysia’s position as a leading player in the region’s aerospace and advanced manufacturing landscape. Selangor Aero Park will attract high-impact investments across the aerospace supply chain including precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and integrated logistics services, while serving as a hub for innovation, talent development and technology transfer.

The Selangor Aero Park is a crucial element in the realisation of the vision of the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 to generate RM55.2 billion in annual aerospace revenue and create over 32,000 high-income jobs by 2030. Spanning approximately 600 acres within KLIA Aeropolis, the park has a potential gross development value (GDV) of RM2.3 billion. It will be developed over several phases to ensure a well-planned and future ready investment environment.

The first phase of Selangor Aero Park spans 200 acres and is immediately available to potential investors, while the remaining parcels of approximately 400 acres will be progressively released beyond 2028 in accordance with infrastructure readiness and investor demand. A reflection of Selangor Aero Park’s appeal to investors is GE Aerospace’s commitment as the launch tenant, securing half of the first phase totalling 100 acres, to develop its engine test cell and MRO facility serving the region.

The park is envisioned to offer a complete ecosystem of aerospace activities, encompassing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), aerospace parts manufacturing, avionics, propulsion and high-value electronics, as well as integrated logistics and advanced supply chain facilities. Designed to be people and workforce-friendly, Selangor Aero Park integrates smart security features such as CCTV with facial and vehicle-plate number recognition, solar-powered street lighting on smart poles, smart billing and maintenance monitoring, green parks, staff accommodations, and commercial amenities. foster a vibrant and connected community. Malaysia Airports is also promoting renewable energy across the park's facilities, including solar and rainwater harvesting, while training and workforce development initiatives by MBI will ensure a future-ready environment for Malaysia’s aerospace industries.

Strategically located within KLIA Aeropolis, Selangor Aero Park’s close proximity to the airport allows for direct access to Asia Pacific’s high-growth flight corridors and global markets, linking Malaysia’s aerospace value chain to local and international demands. The location also benefits from easy connection to Port Klang further strengthening its multi-modal logistics proposition.

The Selangor Aero Park development is designed to host aerospace and advanced manufacturing activities at scale, offering built-to-suit and fully-serviced facilities to cater to OEMs and Tier 1 aerospace players, as well as high technology and high value supply chain operators. It is also supported by a governance model led by Malaysia Airports and MBI to ensure seamless investment facilitation.
