About Us

Lapland North Destinations is a regional tourism board representing the north Lapland. It's airport is Ivalo. Lapland North Destinations has multible tourism destinations including Saariselkä, Ivalo, Inari, Utsjoki and Nuorgam. 

The area is one of the most popular destinations in Lapland. Ivalo airport has over 250 000 passangers a year. The area is famous for its nature and culture as well as wide rage of accommondatons andactivities and quality services. There are Northern Lights over 200 nights a year during the winter and Midnight Sun nearly 100 nights during the summer. During the fall autum colours are worth visiting!

Area is year around destination. Winter season is from the beginning of November until the end of the March. Most popular activities are Northern Light safaries, huskies, raindeers, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, tobbaging and cross country skiing. There is also a ski resort in Saariselkä!

During the summer there are lots of nature activities and cultural experiences. The region is the centre of Samé culture and there is a popular Samé museum in Inari.
