Updated 24th September 2025 - 6.35pm
Dear Routes delegates,
I would like to thank you again for your patience, adaptability and ongoing support. I hope you have had a productive day in spite of the adverse weather conditions.
The Hong Kong Observatory lowered the Typhoon Signal 10 to Typhoon Signal 8 at 1.40pm this afternoon. The Observatory has now confirmed that a Signal 3 will be instated at 8.20pm this evening. As Typhoon Ragasa continues to move away from Hong Kong, we can confirm that the event venue will open tomorrow morning.
The venue will open at 8.30am, with the opening ceremony and first meeting session starting at 9am. Transfers will run from all Official Hotels that are not within walking distance. View the transfer schedule.
Host Party
We hope you enjoyed the Happy Hour social activities yesterday evening, provided by our host. They are keen for you to experience the city, continue to enjoy their hospitality and experience Hong Kong's signature light show. With this in mind, they have moved the original plans for the Welcome Reception to Friday 26th September. We hope you will be able to join us for this Host Party at the M+ from 7-9pm. Further details regarding transfers will be provided in due course.
As a Signal 8 remains in place at this time, we would encourage you to remain inside until the Signal is lowered.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow morning.
Kind regards,
Steven Small

Dear Routes delegates,
I would like to thank you for your understanding, cooperation and ongoing support. Your adaptability in these extraordinary circumstances is greatly appreciated.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, Typhoon Ragasa has started to depart Hong Kong but a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 10 is currently still in place. Although we expect this signal to be lowered later today, we can confirm that the event venue will not open for the first day of Routes World.
As Typhoon Ragasa continues to move further away from Hong Kong, we are making preparations to reopen the event venue tomorrow. We hope to confirm this fully in our next communication, that will be sent at 7pm today.
At this moment in time, we would urge you to stay inside and remain safe. Our partners and the authorities in Hong Kong are well-practiced in responding to typhoon conditions, so please follow any specific safety guidance they provide.
Facilitating Meetings
We understand that you may have had several meetings scheduled for today, and we are doing everything we can to make sure these conversations can still take place.
- Utilising the new Meeting System functionality, we have enabled our hybrid event setting that allows you to conduct virtual meetings with your industry partners at the originally scheduled time. Updated 23rd September 2025 - 1.10pm
Dear Routes delegates,
A Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 8 will be issued at 2:20pm today by the Hong Kong Observatory in response to Typhoon Ragasa. In the latest briefing, we received confirmation that a Typhoon signal of at least level 8 is expected to remain in place for the majority of Wednesday, with the signal expected to be lowered later in the afternoon. With this information, we can now confirm that it is highly unlikely that the venue will be able to open on the first day of the event and will instead reopen on Thursday morning.
When the pre-Typhoon signal is raised, we would encourage you to stay inside. Our partners and the authorities in Hong Kong are well-practiced in responding to typhoon conditions, so please follow any specific safety guidance they provide. For the latest information, we would encourage you to visit the Hong Kong Observatory website.

- Utilising the new Meeting System functionality, we have enabled our hybrid event setting that allows you to conduct virtual meetings with your industry partners at the originally scheduled time. Please visit our dedicated web page for step-by-step instructions on how to access and navigate your virtual meeting rooms.
- In the Regala Skycity and Marriott Skycity, where the majority of our airline partners are staying, we will have dedicated meeting halls where the carriers with the largest allocation of meetings will have preassigned tables. Please visit our dedicated web page to learn more about the carriers that are staying in your hotel. A full table plan will be available in the Meeting System before the first scheduled meeting tomorrow morning.
- Regala Skycity meeting hall location: Palladium Banquet Hall I-III, Level 1
- Marriott Skycity meeting hall location: Grand Ballroom A-B
- We are working on a case-by-case basis with all carriers whose travel has been impacted by Typhoon Ragasa to explore the feasibility of virtual meetings going ahead. If this is not possible due to ongoing travel or time zone restrictions, we will notify you directly.
- We would encourage you to continue to use the messaging functionality on the Meeting System to connect with your industry partners.
Additional networking opportunities
Our hosts have worked with all the Official Hotels to ensure that a complimentary buffet lunch is provided for delegates. Please visit our dedicated webpage for timings and locations.
We will also be moving the Exhibitor Networking, originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday, to Thursday from 4-6pm.

Our next communication will be issued on Wednesday 24th September at 11am, confirming whether the event venue will be open in the afternoon, although at this stage we believe this to be unlikely. Updated 22nd September 2025 - Important Event Information
Dear Routes delegates,
We hope you had a safe and comfortable journey to Hong Kong.
We have now received notification from the Hong Kong Observatory that a Typhoon Signal 8 is expected to be raised tomorrow afternoon in response to Typhoon Ragasa for Hong Kong. As a result, and in accordance with government guidelines, we regret to inform you that tomorrow night’s Welcome Reception is cancelled. Our hosts would still like to provide you with hospitality during the evening and have organised a Happy Hour in all of the Official Hotels.
A Typhoon Signal 8 is expected to remain in place until at least Wednesday lunchtime, meaning that the event venue will not open on the first morning. We have been preparing for all eventualities to ensure that our community is able to connect and collaborate effectively in Hong Kong. We will provide further details of these arrangements in a communication tomorrow at 5pm (Hong Kong time) via email, the Meeting System and App, and the event website.
Your safety and comfort remain our highest priorities at Routes World. At this moment in time, we would encourage you to stay inside tomorrow. Our partners and the authorities in Hong Kong are well practiced at responding to typhoon conditions, so please follow any specific safety guidance you are given by them.
We have made this decision, alongside Hong Kong International Airport and AsiaWorld Expo, at the earliest possible time where tracking data was accurate and the direction, timing and impact of the typhoon were clear. Rest assured that we are doing everything possible to ensure your safety and deliver as much of the Routes World programme and experience as we can.
For urgent enquiries, please contact world@informa.com and our team will be happy to help.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
