LBIA Development

Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) today (Tuesday 19 May 2009) announced the completion of a multi million pound redevelopment scheme to improve car parking facilities and the terminal frontage.

Phase One included access improvements for the bus and airport shuttle which links the airport with frequent services to Leeds, Bradford and Harrogate alongside a new drop off and pick up zone for car passengers. A convenient taxi booking point has now been relocated by the ranks to ease passenger departures.

Phase Two of the £2 million scheme saw a streamlined rapid pick up and drop off zone, redevelopment of the short stay car park and improved pedestrian walkways.

These major improvements form the preliminary stages of the airport's plans to invest £28m to provide business and leisure passengers with state of the art facilities and enhance their experience whilst travelling.

Tony Hallwood, Commercial and Aviation Development Director at LBIA said: "We are delighted that development has been completed ahead of the busy summer season. Our aim is to offer customers modern facilities which allow them quick and easy access to and from the terminal.  We are determined to continue to improve the quality of services we provide to our passengers and our on-going investment will deliver a significant enhancement to terminal facilities."
