LBA Flies High On Punctuality
Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBA) today (Monday 15 June 2009) announced the latest quarterly punctuality statistics, with an impressive 93% of flights being either early or on time - that's top of a comparable CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) punctuality report of other airports released today!
LBA published its own data to dovetail into statistics provided by the CAA on a selection of other airports across the country:
LBA data (charter and scheduled flights early or on time): 93.2%
CAA data* (charter and scheduled flights early or on time**):
83.5% Newcastle Airport
79% Glasgow Airport
77% All regional Airports
76% Birmingham Airport
74.5% Manchester Airport
73% London airports
74.5% Manchester Airport
70% Edinburgh Airport
During January to March 2009, 69.4% of flights departing or arriving at LBIA were on time, 23.8% were early and just 6.8% were delayed.
Tony Hallwood, Commercial and Aviation Development Director at LBA, said:
"This is excellent news for both the airport and passengers who use LBA. The findings highlight the sense in flying from Leeds Bradford Airport rather then travelling long distances to other airports.
"We aim to offer a best in class airport where passengers can reach destinations with ease. These results are testament to the fact that we've worked particularly hard with our airline partners to ensure that we offer a punctual service for both our leisure and business customers. We are now looking forward to a busy summer period with over 70 domestic and international flights to choose from, connecting Yorkshire to the World".
