WIZZ AIR ANNOUNCES THE LARGEST EVER SCHEDULE FROM ITALY IN SUMMER 2024

FURTHER €400 MILLION INVESTMENT IN THE MARKET 4 NEW WIZZ AIR AIRCRAFT IN ITALY 6 NEW ROUTES AND MORE FLIGHTS ON EXISTING ROUTES

Wizz Air, Italy’s third largest and most environmentally sustainable airline globally1 announced today the addition of 4 new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft to its bases in Italy: between March and July 2024, 3 additional aircraft will join the fleet in Rome Fiumicino and 1 aircraft to be deployed in Milan Malpensa. With this expansion Wizz Air will launch 6 new routes and increase frequencies on 17 existing routes for its Italian customers next summer. The new aircraft represent a further investment of €400 million by Wizz Air in Italy. In Summer 2024 the airline will have 14 aircraft stationed in Rome and 8 in Milan. With an impressive network in Italy, serving nearly 230 routes spanning across over 40 countries, Wizz Air is further reinforcing its position as the go-to choice for travellers seeking seamless and diverse connections across Europe and beyond. 

  Starting in spring-summer 2024, Wizz Air will introduce six new routes from Italy: from Rome Fiumicino to Berlin, Hamburg (Germany), Alicante (Spain) and Denmark (Copenhagen) as well as from Milan Malpensa to Paris Beauvais (France) and Tenerife (Spain). At the same time, the airline will enhance its product offer on the routes from Rome to Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia (Spain), London Gatwick (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Yerevan (Armenia), Eindhoven (the Netherlands), Amman (Jordan), Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt), Porto (Portugal), Suceava (Romania), Rzeszow (Poland), Baku (Azerbaijan), from Milan to Sharm-el-Sheikh and Cairo (Egypt) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). This significant announcement of nearly 1,5 million additional seats per year comes as a reinforcement of Wizz Air’s commitment to growth and excellence in Italy.

Since Wizz Air established its first base in Italy in 2020, it has introduced more than 50 new routes previously unserved in the market and created more than 1,000 direct jobs. The airline is constantly working to improve its product offering for customers, including domestic travel. With the launch of the WIZZ MultiPass, travellers now have the opportunity to take advantage of a monthly pass that allows them to lock in the price of their ticket for a period of 6 months on domestic routes in Italy, starting from just EUR 37 per month.
