Vietjet Announces New International Route from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta

Earlier today, Vietjet announced the opening of a new international route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) with the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. The new route is purposed to meet the increasing travel demand between the two countries and at the same time boost regional trade and integration.

The announcement ceremony was witnessed by high-ranking dignitaries from Vietnam and Indonesia during the official visit of His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Indonesia.

Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, Vietjet’s Vice President said, “Since its inception, Vietjet has sought to develop friendly and professional flight services to operate key international routes and essentially connect Vietnam’s main business and tourism hubs with foreign destinations, including Jakarta. Committed to fulfilling its mission of building a future in the air by making air travel accessible and possible for everyone, Vietjet’s new route from HCMC to Jakarta will further boost ties between these two economic, cultural and financial hubs, and thus help boost regional trade and integration.”

The HCMC – Jakarta route will operate daily from 20 December 2017. With a flight duration of 3 hours, the flight departs from HCMC at 8.40pm and arrives in Jakarta at 11.40pm (local time). The return flight takes off at 1.40am (local time) and lands in HCMC at 4.40am.

Jakarta, the capital and most populous city of Indonesia is famous for its own distinctive multicultural style, amazing cuisines and colorful tourism. It also serves as a gateway to the country which offers the world “Consistency in Diversity”. The Indonesian archipelago boasts Unesco-listed world heritage sites such as Borobudur and Prambanan, Komodo National Park, Ujung Kulon National Park and the Sumatra rainforest.
