Cam Ranh International Airport shortlisted for Routes World Awards 2025

Affirming Vietnam’s Global Aviation Standing

On July 16, 2025, Aviation Week, a leading global aviation publication, officially announced the shortlist for the Routes World Awards 2025. As one of the most prestigious accolades in the field of air service development, the awards recognize outstanding achievements by airports, airlines, destinations, and individuals contributing to the expansion of global air connectivity. Among the shortlisted candidates, Cam Ranh International Airport (CRTC) has earned a place in the category of airports handling between 5 and 10 million passengers annually.

Cam Ranh is the only airport from Vietnam to be featured in this year’s shortlist, joining five other international airports: Adelaide (Australia), Macau (China), Malta, Newcastle (UK), and Stuttgart (Germany). This recognition marks a significant milestone for Cam Ranh International Airport and underscores Vietnam’s growing prominence in the global aviation sector.

The Routes World Awards are held annually and judged by a panel of airline network planners, aviation executives, and industry experts. Candidates are evaluated based on the quality of their air service development efforts, innovation in route planning, passenger experience, and the strategic impact of their connectivity initiatives.

Cam Ranh’s inclusion in the shortlist is the result of a sustained transformation effort. In recent years, the airport has made major investments in infrastructure, service quality, and international route development. The airport’s strategic focus on enhancing passenger experience, upgrading technical capabilities, and fostering tourism and business travel connectivity has positioned it as a regional aviation hub in Southeast Asia.

Being shortlisted for the Routes World Awards is not only an honor for CRTC but also a testament to Vietnam’s aviation capabilities and integration into the global network. It reflects the country’s commitment to elevating the quality and reach of its aviation and tourism industries.

Hong Kong, the host of Routes World 2025

The final results will be announced at the Routes World 2025 event, to be held in Hong Kong later this year. The event will bring together airport authorities, airlines, tourism boards, and aviation stakeholders from around the world to celebrate and share best practices in route development.
