Brno Airport welcomed almost 740,000 passengers last year. It offered 38 destinations across three continents - the most in its history

We are delighted that people are flying more and more often from Brno, whether to the seaside, to European cities or on long-haul flights. Almost 740,000 passengers in 2025 and a record of 38 destinations are not just statistics for us, but above all the proof of confidence that the region is interested in flying. We appreciate all the more that traffic remains stable even outside the main holiday season

This is also evidenced by the seasonal development in which 2025 differed from the previous year. While July and August were significantly dominant in 2024, in 2025 the number of flights was spread more evenly over a longer period of the year. Although the summer peak occured again in July, when the airport handled more than 159,000 passengers, April, November and December were also strong months.

This development is mainly related to the expansion of the range of destinations and the greater role of scheduled services, which helped spread demand beyond the peak holiday months. The winter season remains weaker in terms of volume compared to the summer, but its importance has been growing in recent years thanks to long-haul and seasonal flights: in particular, popular connections to Egyptian resorts, which help to maintain traffic even outside the main holiday season, and there is also great interest in the regular route to Malaga. Long-haul flights to Thailand also remain in demand.

Changes in scheduled services

In 2025, passengers from Brno were able to take advantage of direct connections to 38 destinations, five more than in the previous year. This was not only an increase in number, but also greater diversification of the offer. In addition to the traditionally strong charter flights to holiday resorts, scheduled routes were strengthened, which expanded the use of the airport even outside the main season.

The busiest holiday destinations in 2025 were traditionally Antalya in Turkey, the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada and Marsa Alam, and Burgas in Bulgaria, which accounted for the majority of charter traffic. Charter flights carried a total of 595,579 people in 2025, representing approximately 81 per cent of all passengers handled.

A total of 143,744 passengers were handled on scheduled flights, representing approximately 19 per cent of all passengers handled, with the route to London (Stansted) remaining a long-term pillar. In 2025, it was used by over 86,000 passengers. Other scheduled routes included Malaga, Bergamo and Rome.

However, Aeroitalia's scheduled route to Rome, launched in spring 2025, will not be offered in 2026, as the carrier has decided to discontinue its operation. Passengers can continue to fly regularly to Italy from Brno to Bergamo. Malaga, Spain (Ryanair), launched in the same period as the second new scheduled route, remains on offer throughout the year. 

More than 25,000 aircraft movements

A total of 25,419 aircraft movements in 2025 confirms that Brno Airport's operations are not based solely on summer passenger traffic. In addition to regular and charter flights, general aviation flights, i.e. training flights, private flights and business aviation, also contribute to the airport's year-round use. For these flights, but also to increase the comfort of based aircraft crews, the part of the terminal area dedicated to general aviation handling and crew facilities was refurbished last year.

Cargo transport remains an important part of the airport's activities. In 2025, Brno Airport handled 12,797 tonnes of cargo (8 per cent more than last year), continuing the slight upward trend of previous years. Scheduled cargo services operated by DHL and FedEx provide daily connections between the region and major European logistics     centres. Compared to passenger transport, cargo operations are less seasonal and contribute significantly to the airport's year-round utilisation.

In 2025, Brno Airport continued to invest tens of millions of Czech crowns. These investments were mainly directed towards modernising infrastructure, expanding parking capacity, repairing operational areas and continuously renewing technical equipment for aircraft handling.

The solid results for 2025 confirm that the direction the airport is taking makes sense and corresponds to what passengers expect from us: fast and clear check-in, affordable parking and comfortable facilities overall. That is why we continue to invest tens of millions of Czech crowns in infrastructure, operational areas and aircraft handling technology. At the same time, we are working with carriers and partners to find connections that will make sense for the region and passengers in the long term
