New board of Aarhus Airport: triple the number of passengers

The new board of Aarhus Airport is now in place and has a direct course towards tripling ridership. At the head of the airport board sits Peter V. Ekstrøm.

In five years, the number of passengers in Aarhus Airport is 1.5 million. So clear is the ambition of the new board of directors the East Jutland airport, which will thus triple the number of passengers at the East Jutland airport.

"Aarhus Airport has far more potential passengers close by than any other airport in Jutland. therefore, we ensure that the airport in Aarhus will be the East Jutland's preferred airport and the shortest route from residence to the rest of world. It requires competence strong board with the right experience and the right relationships, and it is now sat with Peter V. Ekstrøm in the lead”, says new investor in Aarhus Airport, Jens Stausholm.

Peter V. Ekstrøm is Group CFO of JS / World Media and Staus A / S, which makes the Group's investments. Staus A / S recently invested with the Municipality of Aarhus, Norddjurs Municipality and Syddjurs Municipality NOK 130 million in the development of Aarhus Airport, which he is now in charge of. Over the next ten years the capital injection must among other things be translated into increased passenger numbers, route expansion and growth.

By continuously developing the airport's foreign routes, which are already generating passenger growth, and are planning airport board initially to raise passenger numbers to 1.5 million over the next five years. The goal is, however, that the number of passengers in ten years has grown to 2.5 million. A realistic aim, but also a cool one, believes chairman.

“The airline industry is unpredictable, and we can face turbulence along the way, but we have a long-term and precise strategy for how we will develop our amazing airport over the next ten years. That's why we don't shake our hands,”says Peter V. Ekstrøm that in the work of the airport will also look to the efforts of the former board.

“There has been a fantastic effort at the airport, which we look forward to taking on completely new heights in strategic cooperation with owner-municipalities, "concludes Jens Stausholm who themselves occupy the chair as Deputy Chairman of the new board.
