Charter flights are available from both airports to destinations in Iceland and overseas, with travel agencies offering direct flights to several destinations.

Akureyri is the most populated town in Iceland outside of the capital area, with 18000 inhabitants. The town is full of cafés, restaurants but still remains small enough to offer the quiet of the countryside. Akureyri is a favorite among tourists. Endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, such as bathing in geothermal pools and enjoying the colorful Northern Lights in the winter and the Midnight Sun in the summer.

Egilsstadir is the center in East Iceland where you can enjoy all year around  fine local dining, comfortable and modern hotels, fabulous highland experiences, regional festivals, museums, theatre, concerts and cultural centers. East Iceland is a magical region of natural phenomena, with glaciers, forests, bird cliffs, vast expanses, deserts, majestic mountains and narrow fjords. Proud hordes of reindeer roam the higlands and mountains.
