With 176 Additional Flights, Natal Airport Projects Increased Operations During the Mid-Year Holiday Season
Natal International Airport, located in São Gonçalo do Amarante, is projecting an increase in flight traffic and additional operations during the peak mid-year travel season, covering the months of July and August. A total of 3,306 flights are scheduled, including 176 extra flights made available by airlines. The figures, which include both arrivals and departures, were provided by Zurich Airport Brasil, the concessionaire responsible for Natal Airport.
The projected number of flights for the period represents a 21% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The main domestic destinations include São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Recife, and Belo Horizonte. Domestic flight capacity is expected to grow by 19%, reaching a total of 3,090 operations. In the international segment, the most popular destinations are Lisbon and Buenos Aires, with 216 flights scheduled, representing a 55% increase.
The additional flights offered by airlines will operate to and from the airports of Guarulhos, Congonhas, and Viracopos, all located in the state of São Paulo.
July will also mark the return of flights between Natal and Montevideo via Carrasco International Airport, the gateway to Uruguay’s capital city. Operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas, the seasonal route will offer one weekly frequency throughout July and into early August.
International connectivity will also be strengthened by flights to Buenos Aires and Lisbon, operated by JetSMART and GOL to Argentina and by TAP Air Portugal to Portugal.
Natal Airport advises travelers to pay close attention to carry-on baggage regulations, as well as weight and size requirements for checked luggage, in accordance with the rules established by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and the airlines. Passengers are also advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures.
