Floripa Airport Celebrates Two Years of TAP’s Lisbon Service

September marks the second anniversary of , operated by , welcoming 's Florianópolis-Lisbon service, connecting the capital of Santa Catarina directly to Europe. According to consolidated data through August 2026, the route carried 151,920 passengers during its first two years of operation and has seen increased frequencies in 2026.

Over the same period, the direct Florianópolis-Lisbon service transported 3,866 tonnes of air cargo, further reinforcing its role in supporting trade and connectivity between Southern Brazil and Europe. In addition, 921 aircraft refueling operations were performed at Floripa Airport, totaling more than 20 million liters of jet fuel (Jet A-1) consumed, generating economic activity and revenue for the local market.

Launched on September 3, 2024, the non-stop route increased its frequency in 2026, growing from three to four weekly flights from Florianópolis in response to market demand.

The implementation of the service at Floripa Airport resulted from a joint effort involving the Government of Santa Catarina, TAP Air Portugal, and Zurich Airport Brasil, initiated during an official mission to Portugal.

“The passenger and cargo figures achieved on this direct route to Europe demonstrate the strong response of the Santa Catarina market to a unique connectivity opportunity. A new international route is always a milestone worth celebrating for an airport, and the results achieved in just two years of partnership with TAP highlight the strength of both tourism and the economy of Santa Catarina,” said Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil.

In addition to Lisbon, Floripa Airport currently offers direct international services to Buenos Aires, Santiago, Panama City, Asunción, and Córdoba, with the latter two seasonal routes already confirmed for the upcoming summer season, further strengthening Santa Catarina’s international connectivity.
