Kenya Airways launches a new connection between Geneva and Nairobi

The national carrier Kenya Airways will inaugurate its first Geneva-Nairobi flight, coupled with a stop in Rome/Italy, next June 2019. The route will be served four times per week by a new generation long-haul aircraft - less polluting - the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, capable of transporting 234 passengers.

With this new destination, Genève Aéroport is continuing its strategy to develop its intercontinental network to better connect Geneva to growth poles worldwide and thus strengthen its African service. Indeed, Kenya Airways will liaise to 53 destinations around the world, including 43 in Africa via the Nairobi hub. It continues to modernise its fleet with its flagship, 787 Dreamliner.

This connection will allow easier access to Kenya, one of the most popular tourist destinations among the Swiss public, thanks to its national parks and coastal beaches. This flight also responds to a need of the diplomatic and business communities, including the presence in Nairobi of an office of the United Nations and specialised agencies (UNEP, UN-Habitat). It should be noted that the capital of Kenya also houses the regional office of the Directorate for Development and Cooperation (DDC).
