Genève Aéroport Takes the Colours of Lausanne 2020
Lausanne 2020 and Genève Aéroport have formalised today their partnership aimed at providing an unforgettable welcome experience to the 1,880 athletes and their companions who will travel to Switzerland from 9 to 22 January 2020. To mark this partnership, a tarmac bus bearing the Lausanne 2020 colours has been inaugurated and will carry thousands of passengers between now and the start of the Games.
Next January, young athletes and their companions from more than 70 countries will enter Switzerland via Genève Aéroport, before heading to Vortex, the Youth Olympic Village located in the heart of the Dorigny university campus in Lausanne. The arrival in Geneva will mark the beginning of the Lausanne 2020 experience for them; it will set the tone for the rest of their Olympic adventure.
This partnership will enable a mutual communication between both parties not only in the coming months, but also during the Games, to provide a unique experience for athletes and spectators upon their arrival.
The official launch of the partnership was also the occasion to inaugurate a “Lausanne 2020” tarmac bus, which, for several weeks now, has been attracting attention at the airport by putting passengers into the atmosphere of the Youth Olympic Games. André Schneider, General Manager of Genève Aéroport and Ian Logan, General Manager of the Lausanne 2020 Organising Committee, took the opportunity to express their common wish to offer an unforgettable welcome to the athletes, supporters and spectators of the Youth Games.

About Lausanne 2020
The Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games will take place from 9 to 22 January 2020 with 1,880 athletes (15-18 years old) from more than 80 countries. The competitions will take place in the cantons of Vaud (Lausanne, La Vallée de Joux, Leysin, les Diablerets, Villars), Valais (Champéry), Grisons (Saint-Moritz) and neighbouring France (Les Rousses).
