Arrival of Kenya Airways in Geneva
The opening of the Geneva-Nairobi route is approaching, as the inauguration of this new long-haul flight operated by the national airline Kenya Airways is scheduled for 13 June 2019.
This new route will benefit from the brand-new Boeing 787 “Dreamliner” of the Kenyan carrier, a 234-seat latest-generation, cleaner and quieter aircraft.
There will be four flights per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Geneva), which will also provide access to the Nairobi hub, with 43 African destinations of Kenya Airways, a member of the Skyteam group.
This long-haul route is part of Genève Aéroport’s qualitative development strategy and responds to a need of the diplomatic and economic circles and to a growing demand from tourism circles. It adds to the Ethiopian Airlines flights launched in 2018 and thus enhances international Geneva’s access to Africa.
As part of the launch of this air connection, a promotional campaign was rolled-out with Kenya Airways at Genève Aéroport and in the region, with visuals highlighting Kenya’s tourist and natural assets.
