Air Sénégal Arrives in Geneva

Genève Aéroport announces the launch of a new route to Dakar, the capital of Senegal. Three flights per week will be operated by the up-and-coming company Air Sénégal as of 18 June 2020. This is Geneva’s first regular destination to West Africa since 1996, and marks a new step in the strategy of developing long-haul flights to offer French-speaking Switzerland, its population and its companies, a quality intercontinental service. This new destination is also an additional asset for International Geneva as well as an opportunity for economic circles and the French-speaking African community in the region.

The Geneva-Dakar flight will be operated three times a week (Monday, Thursday, Saturday) with an Airbus A-321 that can accommodate sixteen passengers in business class with quality beds (full flat bed) and 149 passengers in economy class. The plane will depart from Dakar at 00:50 (local time) and arrive in Geneva at 08:25. It will leave at 09:55 to arrive in Dakar at 13:50 (local time).

The new national airline, Air Sénégal, aims to be the leader in West African air transport based at the new Dakar airport (Blaise Diagne International Airport). Its mission is to provide both domestic and international flights.

To Europe, after Paris, Marseille and Barcelona, Air Sénégal will operate a direct flight to Geneva during the summer, which will meet the important needs of tourism and business travel.

To West Africa, Air Sénégal offers efficient flight routes, notably to Casamance (Senegal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Praia (Cape Verde), Accra (Ghana), Banjul (Gambia), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Bamako (Mali), Conakry (Guinea), Bissau (Guinea Bissau), Freetown (Sierra Leone) and soon to Lagos (Nigeria).
