Good News for Baltimore Bound Passengers

AirTran Airways Adds Two Daily Flights to Baltimore out of JAX

JACKSONVILLE, February 2, 2010 - The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) today announced that AirTran Airways will begin new nonstop service between Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in Baltimore.

Southwest Airlines currently offers three flights per day from JAX to BWI. AirTran Airways will add two additional daily flights with business class service to the market.

"These added flights will provide Baltimore bound passengers with more options, especially business travelers," said Barbara Halverstadt, Manager, Marketing & Development. "We're thrilled to add these flights to our schedule, and we're hopeful JAX will begin to welcome more business travelers and tourists from the Baltimore area."

This new AirTran Airways daily service will begin May 4, 2010.  An introductory one-way fare is being offered for $74. For this rate, reservations must be booked by February 25, 2010, for travel through June 9, 2010.
