Opening of new Wizz Air route: Stockholm Skavsta – Vienna

Friday 15th February saw Wizz Air opening the new route from Stockholm Skavsta to Vienna.

Vienna is the capital of Austria with 1.8 million inhabitants. There are many reasons to visit Vienna; the rich art- and cultural life, the many museums and the beautiful architecture – and not to forget the Spanish Riding School. The city host several international organizations, such as IAEA and UNHCR, and the city center is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Going to Vienna, you have also proximity to the Alps and the green woods of Wienerwald. The route Stockholm Skavsta – Vienna is operated four days per week; on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Tickets are available on wizzair.com. In a press conference in Stockholm on 14 February, Johan Eidhagen, Chief Marketing Officer at Wizz
Air, told about the airlines’ 20% yearly growth since the start in 2004. 34 million passengers travelled with Wizz Air in 2018, whereof 2 million travelled to or from Sweden, and the airline are planning for further growth.
