International passenger traffic is on the increase

International passenger traffic increased by 44,7 % as compared with last year.

Novosibirsk airport complex is fully confirms the international status. At the end of 2011 the number of passengers on international flights was 993 316 people (up to 2010 - 44.7%).

New international routes were opened in 2011 year from airport Tolmachevo :Kiev (Ukraine), Berlin (Germany), Harbin (China), Guangzhou (China), Thessaloniki (Greece). Additional frequencies on flights to Baku (Azerbaijan), Astana (Kazakhstan) and Dubai (UAE) were also put into operations.

Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) continues to grow as an international transport hub. In order to attract new foreign companies it was signed an agreement with a global leader in strategic aviation planning sector "Airport Strategy and Marketing Ltd", under which quotations on the opening of new routes to Tel Aviv, Milan, Munich and others were formed. Since May, the Orenburg Airlines will fly to Dusseldorf (Germany). In addition, summer 2012 is planned to open direct flights to Minsk (Belavia airlines).

An important event of the year was the signing of the agreement on co-investment in construction and reconstruction of the airport complex between the Tolmachevo airport and the Federal Air Transport Agency. Under the Agreement is planned to attract more than 11 billion rubles of private investments until 2018 in the Novosibirsk airport (Tolmachevo). The work plan includes the construction and renovation of several facilities of the airport complex, including the reconstruction of the international terminal.
