International passenger traffic at the Tolmachevo airport has increased by 33%
At the end of January-April the Novosibirsk airport (Tolmachevo) handled 873,844 passengers, that is 27.4% higher than last year. Number of passengers on domestic flights totaled 548,450 people (+24.2%), on international flights - 325 394 (33.3%).
Since the beginning of the year the Tolmachevo airport served 5345 sorties (+11.3%).
The most popular international directions for the first four months of 2012 were Bangkok, Phuket (Thailand), Beijing (China), Bishkek, Osh (Kyrgyzstan). The most popular Russian directions were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Yakutsk.
In April 2012 passenger traffic at the airport has increased by 18.3% compared to the same period of last year and reached 225,571 people. On domestic flights were served 146,576 passengers (+14.7%), and on international - 78 995 (+25.5%).
In April 1396 sorties were carried out, that is 7.7% higher than in 2011.
For the first four months of 2012 were handled 8129 tons (+39%) of cargo and mail, in April it were 2326 tons (37%). Cargo flight program at the Tolmachevo airport is performed by such Russian airlines as "Aeroflot", "AirBridgeCargo", "Volga-Dnepr" and international airlines - Air Cargo Germany, Cargolux, and others.
The Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) - the largest air hub east of the Urals located on key transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3,155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011.
