The historical flight on Boeing-747 from Novosibirsk to Bangkok

For the first time in the history a regular scheduled flight operated Boeing 747-300 took off from Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo. Boeing 747-300 is the biggest passenger aircraft from the Boeing family ever handled at Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport (496 seat capacity).

Ground handling service specialists of Tolmachevo have successfully performed receiving, maintenance, and takeoff of the first passenger flight of Boeing 747-300.

Starting from October 26, 2012, the airport partner Transaero Airlines started operating flights from Novosibirsk to Bangkok using the double-deck Boeing-747-300. In honor of the operating of the first flight a symbolic handover ceremony of Boeing-747 model was held at the Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo by the representative of Transaero to the management team of Novosibirsk International airport.

Victor Pakhomenko, Head of the Transaero Representation in Novosibirsk and Gregory Pomerantsev, Commercial Director of Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo, along with the largest tour operators in Novosibirsk, and 447 passengers of the first flight Novosibirsk-Bangkok participated in a ceremony of opening of the first Boeing 747 flight.

The appearance of this new type of aircraft in Novosibirsk Tolmachevo schedule will enable more residents of Novosibirsk region and the neighboring Siberian regions to enjoy exotic holidays in Thailand.

The Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1 800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3 155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011 and handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards 2012 in the category "The Best CIS Airport 2012".
