Wizz Air also launches flights to Frankfurt Airport

Wizz Air – the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the 23 air carriers operating at Sofia Airport, announced the launch of a new route from Sofia to Frankfurt.

After Frankfurt Hahn, this is the second route of Wizz Air to one of the largest German cities. The flights will be operated on a daily basis starting on 22 May. Currently, the route from Sofia to Frankfurt Airport is operated by Bulgaria Air and Lufthansa 19 times per week altogether. The new low-cost airline is expected to offer passengers one more option for direct access to one of the leading financial centres worldwide, as well as to contribute to the development of cultural tourism.

Wizz Air flights connecting Sofia and Frankfurt airports will be operated by Airbus A321, which is one out of 7 airline’s aircraft based at the Bulgarian capital’s airport.

Except to Frankfurt, which is the №1 German destination for Sofia Airport passengers, direct year-round flights are also served to Berlin, Baden-Baden, Munich, Memmingen, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Cologne, Hamburg, Nuremberg.
