Two new airlines and nine routes in Sofia Airport winter flight schedule

Eurowings’ inaugural flight from Düsseldorf to Sofia Airport was welcomed with a water salute. "Together, we are expanding opportunities for people to travel to two more destinations in Germany – Stuttgart, a new route from Sofia Airport, and Düsseldorf, a route renewed after a pause of several years", said Chair of the Board of Directors Mrs. Asya Ivanova.

“Bulgaria is a very important market for Eurowings and that is why we have chosen Sofia. The route to Düsseldorf will be operated three times a week and twice a week we will have flights to Stuttgart. The flights will be operated with Aribus A319 which can carry up to 144 passengers," Mr. Zied Gueblaoui said, General Manager Sales at Lufthansa Group for Bulgaria.

Flights to cities in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Austria and Israel are part of Sofia Airport Winter Schedule. Also, there will be new scheduled flights to the East Midlands, Marseille, Naples, Vienna, Paris, Nuremberg and Tel Aviv. "We are constantly striving to increase the selection of airlines and destinations offering convenient connections and new opportunities for passengers," said Mr. Vladimir Rapondjiev, Executive Director of Sofia Airport.

The other airline that is new to Sofia Airport is Laudamotion. It will operate flights to Vienna every Wednesday and Sunday.

Airline Ryanair offers new routes to Paris (Beauvais) and Marseille. The flights to the French capital city will be operated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and those to Marseille on Wednesday and Sunday. The airline will continue to fly to Tel Aviv on Wednesday and Sunday as well as to the East Midlands – every Saturday from 11 January 2020.

During the winter months, Wizz Air will continue to fly to Naples and Nuremberg. The flights to both destinations are on Monday and Friday.

Adding the new proposals, the number of destinations from Sofia Airport becomes 57 and the operating airlines – 22.
