Record: Over 25 million passengers at Zurich Airport
In 2014, 25.5 million passengers have travelled through Zurich Airport, equaling a growth of 2.5%. The number of aircraft movements increased by 1.0%, seatload factors by 1.1%.
A total of 25,477,622 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport last year, an increase of 2.5% versus 2013.
While the number of local passengers increased by 6.4% to 17.7million in 2014, the number of transfer passengers decreased by 5.5% to 7.7 million, resulting in a transfer share of 30.3% for 2014 versus 32.9% for 2013.
Swiss International Air Lines transported 55.4% of all passengers, followed by Air Berlin (5.6%), Edelweiss Air (4.0%), Lufthansa (2.8%) and British Airways (2.2%).
The average number of passengers per flight increased from 109 to 110. The seat load factor increased by 0.8 percentage points to 75.9%.
The seats available to and from Zurich increased by 1.3%.
264,970 aircraft movements were counted in 2014, representing an increase of 1.0% over the previous year.
Cargo volumes increased by 3.5%, reaching a total of 429,830 tons for 2014.
