Major news: London is back with direct flights from Aalborg

From 2 April 2026, it will once again be possible to fly directly from Aalborg to London Gatwick, when Norwegian reopens the popular route. The service will be operated twice weekly – on Thursdays and Sundays – making it attractive for both leisure and business travelers.

With the reopening of the London route, North Jutland regains direct access to one of Europe’s most important and, not least, most popular cities among Danish travelers. The route caters both to leisure travelers seeking easy access to city breaks, culture and shopping, and to business travelers who need fast and efficient connections to the UK market.

"London is a highly sought-after destination among our passengers, and we are very pleased that we can reopen the route together with Norwegian. This is a significant strengthening of our route network and an important connection for both tourism and business in North Jutland,” says CEO Niels Hemmingsen, continuing: “With departures from Aalborg in the early evening on both Thursdays and Sundays, and return flights from London in the afternoon, the schedule benefits both leisure and business travelers.

Norwegian strengthens its route network from Aalborg

With London added to the network, Norwegian is strengthening its activities from Aalborg, where they already operate several daily flights to Copenhagen as well as services to popular holiday destinations such as Malaga, Mallorca, Nice, Alicante, and in the winter season Tenerife and Madeira.

“We are very pleased that we can now meet the strong demand for a direct connection between Aalborg and London. The route ensures a fast and smooth journey between North Jutland and one of the Danes’ most popular destinations – without stopovers and wasted time. At the same time, the route strengthens our presence in Jutland and our ambition to strengthen and simplify accessibility through direct routes for all Danes on both sides of the Storebælt,” says Sara Neergaard, Country Director for Corporate Affairs for Norwegian in Denmark.

Attractive fares from day one

The first departure will be on Maundy Thursday, 2 April, making it possible to book a city break to London already during the Easter holidays, or with departure on Easter Sunday and thereby extend the Easter break.

“There is no doubt that there has been huge demand for the direct route to London – both from the business sector and leisure travelers. We have received many enquiries about when we would once again be able to offer Aalborg–London, and with the attractive fares Norwegian is offering, I am convinced the route will get off to a strong start,” concludes Niels Hemmingsen.

Norwegian has now put tickets on sale, starting with sharp introductory fares. You can fly one-way from Aalborg to London from just DKK 299.
