HAMMONTON, NJ – May 31, 2017

Yesterday the South Jersey Transportation Authority learned it is the recipient of two grants totaling $2,684,700 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Obtained with the assistance of U.S. Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02), the grants will fund three projects at the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) including the rehabilitation of 1,900 feet of the airport’s existing access road to preserve and enhance access to the airport, the reconstruction of 950 feet of perimeter fencing for security purposes, and an environmental assessment to evaluate any potential environmental impact related to the removal of obstructions near Runway 13/31 and Runway 4/22 at the airport.

"We appreciate Congressman LoBiondo’s ongoing efforts to support the Atlantic City International Airport and thereby the entire region of Southern New Jersey. He has always been a strong advocate for our airport and recognizes the valuable role ACY plays in the nation’s growing transportation network,” said Stephen F. Last year, LoBiondo announced a $450,000 FAA grant for ACY to purchase a new aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle to support the operation the facility located in Egg Harbor Twp.

"The federal funding announced yesterday will improve the experience of travelers in the region who seek to take advantage of all the conveniences Atlantic City International offers," added Deputy Airport Director, Tim Kroll.
