Qatar Airways Expands Doha-Edinburgh Service With the Launch of the Airbus A350

On July 1st 2018, Qatar Airways exchanged the B787 Dreamliner for the Airbus A350, allowing an additional 406 passengers to travel between Doha and Edinburgh every week.

The Airbus A350 is not only a larger aircraft; it boasts state-of-the-art technology. Customers in business class can enjoy a 17-inch high-definition touch screen, and the inflight entertainment system offers 3000+ hours of content including movies, TV box sets, music, and games. Business class travellers are also treated to 3D Audio, USB sockets, Wi-Fi, and GSM services.

Feeling peckish? Qatar Airways features a gourmet dining service. Guests in business class can order an Arabic mezze platter with pita rounds, hummus, tabbouleh, and stuffed grape leaves. Past meals have also included Indian-spiced lentil pancakes and a white chocolate-ginger cheesecake.

Edinburgh Airport CEO Gordon Dewar noted that the route has been one of Edinburgh’s ‘top performers’ since its launch in 2014. ‘We have a fantastic relationship with Qatar Airways,’ Dewar explained, ‘and I am delighted to see that partnership continue.’
