Lufthansa Launches Additional Weekly EDI-MUC Winter Service
As of December 1st , Lufthansa is operating an Edinburgh-Munich service every Tuesday and Saturday.
The flight adds to existing routes operated by Eurowings and easyJet; between all three services, there will now be a flight from Edinburgh to Munich virtually every day in December.*
The launch of the new route arrives just in time for the holiday season. Passengers looking to visit some of Europe’s best Christmas markets will find Munich to be an ideal base, with Stuttgart, Nuremberg, and Salzburg just hours away by train. Munich also boasts an impressive Christmas market itself, with dozens of wooden huts selling freshly-baked gingerbread and candied almonds in the shadow of the Neues Rathaus’s romantic neo-Gothic façade. Munich is also the ideal destination for avid skiers, with impressive and less crowded resorts such as Wallberg or Zugspitze only 90km away from the city centre.
Lutfhansa’s new service operates on an Airbus A319, with 28 business class seats. With the growing number of corporate ties between Germany and Edinburgh, specifically within technology (e.g. Machines With Vision, iZettle), the new route offers business travellers an easy way to journey from one city to the other.
