Seven records were broken at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport, Türkiye's second-largest airport in terms of passenger numbers and Europe's 9th busiest, broke seven records in passenger and flight traffic on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) Airport, which has become a strategic hub for air travel between Europe, Asia, and Africa, is breaking record after record during the summer months. Yesterday (Sunday, July 27, 2025), significant increases were seen, particularly in international passenger and flight numbers, with records being broken in seven different categories.

While serving a total of 157,630 guests on this busiest day of the airport, records were broken for the total number of passengers and flights, the number of international arriving and departing passengers, the number of arriving flights, and the total number of international flights and passengers.

Yesterday, international flight data broke records last set on July 20th. Accordingly, the number of international arrivals rose from 43,864 to 44,446, and the number of flights from 234 to 237. The number of international departures rose from 41,969 to 43,499. Thus, the total daily passenger count on international routes, which was 85,833 on July 20th, reached 87,945. The total number of international flights was recorded at 475.

At Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport, which is pushing its capacity to the limit with an ever-increasing number of passengers, passengers are experiencing a comfortable and convenient travel experience thanks to the positive impact of the "Passenger Flow Improvement Project," implemented last year with an investment of approximately €34 million. As a result of a series of renovations carried out without disrupting existing passenger traffic at the terminal, Sabiha Gökçen Airport offers passengers a faster and more comfortable experience through technological and operational improvements in security and passport processes. It also aims to increase passenger satisfaction through its continuously improving service quality.

Known as the "City Airport" for its ease of access and proximity to central locations, and the first choice of many passengers with its compact structure, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG) connects Istanbul and its surrounding area to a total of 148 destinations in 53 countries, 39 domestic and 109 international.
